Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 29, 2025

Quorum ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Quorum application for iOS and macOS (the "App"), accessible at quorum.ai. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

The short version: Quorum is designed to keep your data on your device. We don't have servers that store your conversations, API keys, or prompts. The App connects directly from your device to the AI providers you configure.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

Quorum does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the App. The App does not collect your name, email address, or any other identifying information from you during normal use.

API Keys

To use Quorum, you provide API keys for the AI providers you wish to use (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, or xAI). These keys are stored locally on your device using the iOS/macOS Keychain and are never transmitted to Quorum's servers. API requests are made directly from your device to the respective AI provider.

Conversation Data

Your conversations, prompts, and model responses are stored locally on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, synced privately via iCloud to your other devices. Quorum does not have access to the contents of your conversations. Your iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

App Usage and Crash Data

We may collect anonymized, aggregated crash reports and basic usage analytics (such as feature usage counts, session length, and app version) to improve the App. This data does not include your conversation content, API keys, or any personally identifiable information. Collection of this data is subject to your device's privacy settings and any consent prompts presented at first launch.

2. How We Use Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your data to any third party.

3. Data Shared with Third Parties

AI Providers

When you use Quorum to send a prompt, that prompt — along with any conversation history or system instructions you have configured — is sent directly from your device to the AI providers you have selected (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, xAI, or others). For example, when using xAI models (Grok), prompts are sent to xAI's API at api.x.ai. This transmission is governed by each provider's own privacy policy and terms of service. We encourage you to review those policies:

Apple / iCloud

If you use iCloud sync, your conversation data is stored in your personal iCloud account. Quorum does not access this data outside of the App itself. Apple's iCloud service is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Analytics

We may use third-party analytics tools (such as Apple's built-in analytics or similar privacy-respecting services) to collect anonymized usage data. Any such tool is configured to collect the minimum data necessary and is not permitted to use your data for advertising purposes.

No Other Third-Party Sharing

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties except as required by law (e.g., in response to a valid legal process).

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Because Quorum stores your conversations locally on your device and in your iCloud account, you control your data entirely. You can delete individual conversations or all data from within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored data from your device. To remove iCloud data, delete conversations before uninstalling, or manage your iCloud storage in your device's Settings.

Anonymized crash and analytics data (if collected) may be retained for up to 12 months before being permanently deleted or further anonymized.

5. Children's Privacy

Quorum is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at support@aiquorum.app and we will take steps to delete such information.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. Your API keys are stored in the system Keychain, which is encrypted by your device's hardware security features. All communications between the App and AI providers use TLS encryption. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. International Users

Quorum is operated from the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that information you provide may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or the country in which the AI providers you use maintain their servers. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, please note that your data is transferred to countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home country. We rely on your consent and the necessity of the transfer to perform the service you have requested as the legal bases for such transfers.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete your data. Since Quorum stores virtually all data locally on your device, you have direct control over this data at all times. For any residual data we hold (e.g., anonymized analytics), you may contact us at support@aiquorum.app to exercise your rights.

For users in California: Quorum does not sell personal information within the meaning of the CCPA. We do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising.

For users in the EEA/UK: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy at quorum.ai/privacy and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
